In this game jam, we collaborated with another artist for the first time. Since we had different art styles, we needed to find an approach to combine them without creating inconsistencies in the game’s visuals. To address this challenge, we decided to turn this difference into an advantage by dividing the assets based on the interior (submarine) and exterior (ocean). This contrast not only resolved the initial problem but also became a key element in developing the story of “The calm, peaceful ocean versus the intruding, dreadful submarine.” As the ocean becomes more polluted, the bright and lively colors gradually transform into tainted and gloomy tones.
